Originally an Ohio native, Debbie moved to Arizona with her family during high school. She lives in Queen Creek, AZ, a small growing town on the southeast fringe of Phoenix. Debbie is available for worldwide assignments.
Debbie’s Fortune 500 background is based on 20 years of business and international experience across the U.S., Europe and Greater Asia. Debbie’s move into cyber security was by design, based on earlier roles managing computer and network support. Her first security opportunity presented itself as a senior information security auditor.
Big companies had just started to focus on security and the protection of intellectual property in a distributed environment. UNIX was predominant, along with local and wide area networks, and VAX, Novell, and HP thrown into the mix. Debbie built a risk-based audit approach to for reviewing information security and disaster recovery across platforms and business groups.
After four years, Debbie moved into a newly created site information security manager role, which also evolved into the model for other upcoming sites to build upon. An Asia Regional Manager role was created next, to deal with business and manufacturing growth there, the lack of a security focus, and the need to comply with US controlled technology export regulations. No positions were staffed initially—it was building as the business need demanded.
From Asia, Debbie moved into an enterprise role, to manage security programs overseeing Y2K, security incident response, information security training and awareness, security help desk, mergers and acquisitions, and technology risk assessments and penetration testing. She has also led business continuity planning and helped create information security policy and procedures.
Debbie co-authored two books: “Real World Career Development Strategies That Work”, and “Real World Management Strategies That Work”.
